Stobart Forestry can assist in all aspects of woodland management from undermanaged woodland to commercial forests. We can provide flexible solutions to help woodland owners & managers bring their woodland into active management or provide management services to established woodlands.
Grants and Guidance
We can provide guidance on the availability of grants and income potential in regards to woodland management & creation, as well as providing direction on existing regulations & standards. This can help to reduce plant health risks, increase ecological biodiversity & improve woodland longevity & sustainability in respect to climate change.
Woodland Management Plans & Felling Licences
Stobart Forestry can develop & write management plans based on your objectives, whether this is for an existing woodland or creating a new woodland. We can also act as the forestry agent on behalf of clients to obtain Felling Licences & provide guidance.
GIS and Mapping Services
We utilise our independently developed online & mobile data collection system to find and survey undermanaged woodland & to undertake detailed analysis. This supports the creation of management & operational plans to meet the landowners objectives & the UK Forestry Standard (UKFS).
Woodland Operations & Marketing
Stobart Forestry work with trusted partners & forestry operators to deliver a harvesting programme & forest operations tailored to the woodland management requirements. We have endeavoured to utilise low impact machinery where possible to protect existing woodland.
We have access to nationwide timber markets providing an outlet for all material products removed from the woodland (including infected/diseased). Stobart Forestry can provide the opportunity for previously undermanaged woodlands to be actively managed. This will also help provide better quality timber products for future operations.
We will work alongside clients to develop a planting plan in line with Felling Licence requirements. Stobart Forestry can prepare the land for replanting, select & purchase tree species suitable for the location & plant trees with the option of future maintenance of site.
