Site operations

We produce over 500,000 tonnes of biomass fuel each year to supply to our customers. We operate six strategically located production and storage sites (one with its own port facility) as well as a drying facility to receive waste wood from across the UK.  

We have invested over £25m in our processing infrastructure and work closely with processing equipment manufacturers and invest in the latest proven technology.

All our sites operate under an environmental permit, as issued, and regulated by the Environment Agency and we work closely with our local communities to ensure we are good neighbours.  

Quality Control  

We understand that ensuring the right fuel for your plant will improve its operating performance and productivity, optimising efficiency, longevity and, ultimately, profitability.  

We deliver unparalleled quality control, thanks to our dedicated laboratories located at each of our processing sites and embedded quality management system. Here, our full-time technicians measure moisture, particle size, chemicals and bulk density, providing certainty over the energy content and plant suitability of our fuel. Our Quality team also provide customers with advice on the sampling and testing of fuels, the environmental characteristics and the best ways to meet British and International standards.  

Having evaluated renewable fuel for many years across the UK, Esken Renewables has established a significant data and intelligence within the field. As a result, we can also use big data to provide forward looking advice on the type of renewable fuel best suited to maximise the productivity of your energy plant throughout the year.
